JOURNAL: 03/25/2010 medical cell number four. afternoon 008826838-6785. sleep until 6am breakfast; rice crispies, milk, peanut butter toast. i ditch the banana. Meds: the Australian nurse gets me the Motrin, a... and syn.... he asks if i want Vicodin or Oxycontin. i tell him the Oxycontin cos i've never tried it before. he goes and gets me two of them. they are tiny little pills. i write in my journal. lunch: chilli, cornbread, coleslaw. i ditch the crackers and juice mix. Cell number four. blue phone with three inch chord, two way mirror with carpet on back side blocking the view, stainless steel toilet sink, no soap, nice metal table to write on and a seat. I have a view of the hallway out the door window. there is a tray slot. the cell has the same color scheme; off white and gray trim. there is a single bed, mattress and a pillow. there's a camera and a smoke detector on the ceiling. there is a call button, five air-vents, a doorstop. the neighbor on my left is snoring. the neighbor on my right is a neurotic lady who constantly is bugging anyone who walks by for anything and everything. i find a trail of ants coming from under my bed that goes out the door. i find a banana peel wrapped up in a piece of paper. my new pets. make me your king. the female deputy throws out the trash when i return my lunch tray. there are still a few ants lingering about looking for food. i look under the bed for more trash. the wall and floor corner is caked with dirt. it looks like i don't get a mop or broom or spray cos im' in constant lock-down. deputy Browning goes cell to cell asking if you want a shower. i go, "no way" and show him the pins through my finger. he goes, "yeah well in a couple days we will get a garbage bag you can put it in and take a shower." man, what does Dr. Combs say about that. we are trying to get rid of infection. Judging by the mess under my bed, the shower's not much better. i ask him about the blanket to elevate my hand. he's the deputy that yelled at me for asking in R-block and not to ask meds for a blanket. he goes, "as soon as the nurse gives me a note i can get you one." wtf! i've got four notes over the past three weeks from the nurse in the clinic. i'll try the female deputy. one razor would be nice so i can look good when i look in the mirror at myself. whew. there you go 3000 words since yesterday. i don't like to get that behind because it means lots of sitting in the writing chair, and it also means im' out doing things. next, a nap until meds and then write progression variations to my 12 bar piece. i'll start figuring out the melody and harmony. i should get to page 300 out of 400 in the "Voyage" book if it's quiet tomorrow. i'll get some sleep, probably Saturday too. if im' just in here all the time, i can concentrate on 12 bars and writing articles. not much excitement going on in here. the crazy lady wants to go home and dude keeps snoring. maybe the phone will work. telepathy. ### end.
